I had an appleId that was not an email address, and when I installed iOS 5, it required to switch it to an email address, which I did, though it turns out I used a different email address for it than my contact address was for the account (didn't know this at the time, but don't imagine it should matter)
Now when I try to use iCloud it says I have to confirm my email address, and that's fine. Except the alleged confirmation email has not come.
I installed icloud for PC, and it has a 'resend confirmation' link, which does nothing.
The other strange thing is that the email address it lists on iCloud PC is the new one I entered when I had to change my ID to an email address, whereas on my iPhone, it's the old email address that was previously contact address for my appleId.
I would like to contact Apple support but I don't know what path I need to take to get to where I describe my issue via email. They're requiring me to enter a product serial# in expresslane and schedule a callback or call later (thought they were 24h?) and no option to just write down what's happening and get it off my chest for a while.
