contacts advice

I'm going to help someone set up a new iPad. She doesn't regularly use a computer and her main email account is a yahoo one. She is going to have to enter all of her contacts and I want to find the best way to do this.

1. Will yahoo contacts synch with iCloud contacts?
2. Is there any benefit to just entering the contacts through contacts and synching them through iCloud?

Stick to 100% Yahoo and put her contacts up there. No need to get iCloud involved.

Have to say that I wouldn't recommend Yahoo email/contacts/calendars to anyone starting out, though.
