Contacts App Sloooooooooooooow

Anybody else experiencing a super slow, sluggish and lagging contacts app? It's nearly unusable for me.

yes, there are multiple threads on this. Lots of people are experiencing a slow contacts app and also slow typing in SMS.

I did the update (restore) last night and it has improved the Contacts application somewhat. I'm still working with it but so far I'd say things are generally more stable.

mine was very slow but then I had over 2400 entries... I've now paired it down to a more reasonable number.

Do you mean turning off/on the iphone or the contacts app? If the latter one how do you do that?

I have found the same thing. When I open the contacts app it takes several seconds before I see the list. Once it opens the list it is perfectly quick. The delay is annoying since usually you are trying to grab that contact quickly.

I had the same thing yesterday, it wwould show my contacts but freeze for several seconds. I restored to build 347 and it's now instant.

The iPhone "contacts" list through the phone icon works fine but the added desktop app is slow to open and respond.

I'm on build 5A347 and my contacts still very very slowwwww

Likewise, doing a restore and updating the firmware made no difference in the contact list or SMS typing speed. Both are still awfully slow at times. It's not hard to repro the problem, I'd assume (right now) that Apple will find and fix whatever the problem happens to be. I have maybe 30 contacts so that can't be the problem.

Same here. I'm on 5A345 and it's dead slow on Contacts on launch and while typing SMS.

I'm so waiting for 2.0.1 :-/
