So last night I asked the computer to replace all of the contacts on my iPhone from the computer. Turns out I had double of everything so i went through the phone and deleted the second instance of the contact. Now I've re-synced the phone sinceand ALL of my contacts everywhere are gone, from the phone, from the computer and my mobile me. Now isn't that annoying?

It seems the iphone replaced the backup on the computer, how is this supposed to happen?

I too had exactly the same thing happen - two of everything! I found that deleting the second occurrence on my iPhone corrected the situation. However, now I don't seem to be able to remove a contact - even if I delete both the phone and the address book entries, syncing the iPhone replaces it!

I should imagine, deleting the backup and re-syncing will do the trick but at the moment I must admit I can't be bothered!
