When entering a new contact, what is the difference between iPhone and mobile? Is there something else to it besides just so you know who has an iPhone and who doesn't?

Same here. I have found no real purpose to assigning a contacts number as an iPhone. Other than to let you know that-that person has an iPhone.

I think its merely a label that lets you know if its truly an iphone or not, and if so then it might give you an idea if you can facetime with them or not.

Other than that, I've no clue.
