Contacts Pictures question

Hi Everyone - Before iOS5 if you wanted to adjust the size of the picture of your contact on your phone you edited it (or applied it) to the contact on your phone and it appeared large or you edited it (or applied it) in your Mac Address Book and it appeared smaller and in the corner of the phone during an incoming call.

I have installed all my pictures using my Mac and I have not edited them on my iphone at all, however, most of my pictures appear full size on the screen and I want them to appear in small boxes in the corner. Does anyone have some direction for me?
