How does one sort the contacts by FIRST name?

I have then synced via iCloud and they're sorted by first name on my iPhone 4S but not on my MB Pro :confused:

Thanks...
 
Go to "Contacts" at the top next to the apple logo and then "Preferences" Then sort by first name.
