Contents of Finder windows not refreshing...

I remember having this problem with another version of OS X many years ago and it seems to be back.
Sometimes when I create a new document from an application, and save that document in a Finder window which is already open, the document doesn't show up.
I've had to use Spotlight to find the document and then if I click it in the Spotlight list, *poof*, it shows up in the Finder window.
I'm sure this is a bug of some kind and wondered if I'm the only one getting this?

I was wondering when someone would post a query.

You are not alone. I've had this problem since updating to 10.7 the day it was released. At first I thought I was at fault until it happened more often at random intervals.

Most recently, I emptied the trash repeatedly and the trash showed the files were still there. I used Application Wizard to update the finder and the trash was gone.

Periodically, I will move a file to another folder and it will not appear until I refresh the finder. All I can say is have Application Wizard handy for this and many other useful reasons.

I've run Lion Cache Cleaner, Onyx and Drive Genius 3 and the annoying problem persists.

I have other issues like Mail not retrieving messages, manually or scheduled, unless I quit and re open the application. This causes problems when messages are time sensitive.

A google search has brought me here as I too am seeing this. Downloaded files etc. don't show up in Finder (unless I search for them specifically) until I restart the computer. Really annoying. Anyone got a solution?

I just force quit Finder (relaunched it, actually) and my missing files showed up.

I've had similar experience. If I have finder open to a directory and a file is created in that directory it will not show up until I navigate away Finder somewhere else and then return to that directory. Kind of annoying.

same for me, i notice if im converting video if i have the output folder open the new file wont appear till i red button finder then navigate to the folder again

Same here...

Force-quitting the Finder seems to help (briefly) but the problem always reappears. No rhyme nor reason, and it has been around since day 1 with the Lion Finder.
