I have an external drive with two partitions. Partition #1 is fine. Partition #2 appears on the "Devices" section on the left of a finder window, yet nothing appears when I click on it. Disk Utility shows 125GB used out of 150GB total. It is described as "USB External Physical Volume OS X Extended". Luckily this is an old backup disk that probably doesn't have anything important on it but it would be nice to know.

Any ideas?

Run Repair Disk twice. Once on the drive itself and once on the faulty partition. Let us know if Repair disk gives you a clean bill of health both times.
[doublepost=1465835036][/doublepost]Also, can you post screen shots of the DU window?

I ran it Disk Utility>First Aid at least twice on the drive and each partition.

I suppose it is possible that the disk space is being taken up by invisible files. Download and run InvisiblesX http://invisiblix.read-write.fr which will allow you to see invisible files. Don't forget to turn off the visibility of the invisible files after you have dealt with this issue.
