hi all,

I imagine a variation of this question comes up during new releases...

Bought the Pro and am giving away my beloved Air. Migration worked great and everything is intact. Now need to erase the drive on the Air before I give away the computer to a relative - but it's a nerve racking!

Other than a SuperDuper back up, any other tips??

Thanks so much.

You already transfered everything over to your pro?

Just pop in your install DVD to your pro and do an erase and install of the remaining data on the air unless you have an external DVD drive for it.

yep all transferred. I think I was just 'getting cold feet' about erasing data on the machine it was originally saved on.

thanks for the quick reply.

one more query about time machine. haven't really used it.

does anyone know if you can do a time machine back up onto an external drive that already has a few files on it? was under the assumption that time machine takes over the entire drive.

thanks again for any help.

Yes you can time machine to an external that has files on it already. I just hope your external is already in HFS+.
