I read reports that Apple's iPad 2 delivery shipment has now shortened to 2 to 3 weeks. Given this new information, I want to ask all of you for your opinion on the following:

I ordered with J&R an iPad 2 32GB AT&T black colour model on March 9th. The item is still listed as "backordered" and it is unclear when J&R can fulfill my order.

Should I now just cancel my J&R order and order from Apple online? Any thoughts on this?

I canceled my J&R order this morning after I found a 64GB ATT at Macconnection. They might get a big shipment soon, but so far it seems like they are getting just a few here and there. BH seems to be shipping more consistently. I've had good experiences with J&R in the past so I will continue to shop there, but for the iPad2 I wouldn't suggest them only bec. they have no idea on when they are going to be able to meet their orders. Any info they give you is just a guess.

I just called J&R after Jacques, their Mac specialist, had left work. The customer rep who responded said they have no report on when the next iPad shipment is and when I asked him when he thinks I'll be getting my order he said, "I think mid-April". Hmm...

I'm also ashamed to call Jacques because I've spoken to him about 3 times now asking for updates and each time he says something different.
