continuity not working between iPhone 6 and macbook air

I just got iPhone 6 today and trying to get the continuity(handoff) working with my Mid 2011 Macbook Air . I checked setting. still can not get it working .

OS version OS X 10.10 (14A361c)
IOS version 8

tried to type iMessage on iPhone or email on iPhone. not appearing on my macbook air. both the iPhone 6 and MBA logged with the same iCloud account.

Anything I might do wrong ?
