I'm also kind of having problems with this feature. The start of my problem is the fact that from the time my iPhone 5 was brand new it tends to disconnect from Wifi after a few minutes of being locked (it stays connected for about 3 minutes after locking and then disconnects). Then as soon as I press the home button or unlock it almost immediately reconnects to wifi.I Read and posted on some forums regarding this and was told that it is a feature to save battery on iOS devices..
Before iOS 8 was released it thought to myself that this might be an issue with the call continuity etc.
And I was right, I can make and receive calls within the 3 minutes that it stays connected but after that it says iPhone needs to be connected to same wifi network blah blah.. Again I press the home button or unlock and it works as soon as wifi reconnects.. (This was all with Bluetooth off and since it works maybe it doesn't definitely need Bluetooth ?)
Has anyone got a good solution ?
