Continuous crashes - syslog issues? , please advise

So for the past couple weeks I've been having a lot of problems with the computer locking up completely. (the spinning color wheel just spinning and spinning). At first I thought it was a firefox/java issue or something since its never been 100% smooth there but I reinstalled ff and tried using safari but it still happened. Everything would just freeze, color wheel spinning, eventually I can not even switch to a different application.

This forces a restart because I can't pull up activity manager or force quit a program.

I googled syslog errors and got a few lines to enter into the terminal (something about repairing permissions and then restarting) and thought it worked one day but then the crashes just came back.

I went into console and below is a screenshot showing the regularity of the crashes - they happen even more often but don't get reported ( I have restarted 4 times today alone).
