Sorry for the ignorance on this. This is only my second iphone purchase so bear with me.

I am prepaid through Cricket (basically At&t subsidized network). When I purchased my phone through the app I chose to purchase a contract free phone and T-mobile was the only option. I choose this because I thought Unlocked meant you could use it on any network. However, I got to looking at http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ and noticed there are two different variants of the 6s :
1. A1633 which lists At&t and Cricket and
2. A1638 which lists Sprint, Tmobile, and Verizon.

If I get the A1638 model will it work on At&T or Cricket even though they are not listed?
A rep told me that I would have to activate the phone with one of four major carriers before I could use it on other networks.

I guess that iPhone model is very backdated, better try the new version of iPhone and get your issue solve and also get access to latest apps and tweaks and your AT&T too.

With Regards,
Protar.
