I have a weird situation and I need some advice.
I have iPhone 3G with Data plan (=my iPhone)
My wife has iPhone 2G with data plan (=my wife's iPhone)
I received a new iPhone 3G with SIM card from my work (=my work iphone).
Here is what I want to do:
I hope I made my point clear.
My concern is: what should I tell AT&T about "my iphone"? If I tell them "my phone" got lost or broken, are they able to track "my phone" IMEI even though it has a different SIM card in it? Will this make a problem? can I tell them I'm giving my iPhone to someone else as a gift or something like that?
Any advice is much appreciated.

Here is what I want to do:
- Put the SIM card from "my work iphone" in "my iphone" so I use all my apps without going through the hassle of backup/restore/data transfer. (mening: I use "my work iphone" SIM card in "my phone")
- Get a new 3G SIM card from AT&T for my wife and put that in "my work iphone" so that she upgrades her phone (meaning: wife uses "my wife's iphone SIM card in "my work iphone")
- Put "My iphone" sim card in an old unlocked phone and tell AT&T that my iphone got lost/ broken or whatever to disable the data plan and then just forward all incoming calls from "my iphone" to my work iphone". (meaning: not to use my iphone but just keep the number). my job is temporary and I will return the iphone to my company in 1.5 years. I don't want to lose my phone number.
I hope I made my point clear.
