Hi,

A while back I took a small project in building a basic business website for a friend. Started the project and got into development. However, due to a lack of material that was being provided from her end the project had been put on hold. I sent over several emails trying to keep things together for her but nothing ever got completed from her end due to her being so busy and always on the run. Either way, I am issuing a full refund on her deposit. Contract terms do not require me to refund her but just out of being friends so as to not harm the friendship I am going to do so on this one. Nice guy I know :)

My question is when the deposit was made it came from her company name/business check. For the refund she is asking that it be made out to her name, not the business name. Is this ok to do? Or should I be writing a check made out to the business name? I dont want to have my business questioned at tax time just to benefit her? Any info would be appreciated.
