Is there a way to add the voice recorder to it? I know on iPad and iPhone one can but it’s my applewatch where I use this app the most. I hate having to manually scroll to find the app which is slow.

Not an option on the watch but would be nice. Best bet is adding a complication for it.

Yeah, the app shortcuts that you add to the watch face are called complications. Putting the Voice Memo complication on your watch face will give you even quicker access to it than swiping for the Control Center.

You can also add it to the dock which will be quicker than searching/scrolling through your apps, but not as quick as a complication.

How do I add to the dock?

On your iPhone, select the Watch App, then select Dock. Press edit top right and add whichever watch app to the dock. You can place selected apps in any order you wish.

Also, make sure you select “Favorites” and not “Recents” at the top of the Dock settings. Favorites will keep a pre-selected static list of apps that you create while “Recents” will show your recently used apps in order they were last used.

The Dock is selected by single tapping the side button.

The side button is the oval shaped flush button just below the Digital Crown. The Digital Crown is that circular shaped thingy on the side of the Watch that can be pushed in or rotated.

I did not know this. This will allow me to open voice memos more easily and quickly like in the car when I need to record a note.
