Control / Command switched for end-of-line & start-of-line

I use a Microsoft curve external keyboard at work. I have for years, on a retina macbook pro. In the past few weeks ive noticed that I cannot use end-of-line and start-of-line by using command+ side arrow. For some reason, something got switched to control+ side arrows. The modifier keys are all set to default in the keyboard settings. its driving me crazy. ANy suggestions?
