I house my iTunes library on a PC, which I run through my stereo. I would love to be able to control the iTunes library from my MacBook.

The "Remote" application on my wife's iPhone is able to control the PC's iTunes library. I'm essentially looking for something with the same functionality on my MacBook.

All of the applications I have found online require both the remote computer and the computer where the library is stored to be Macs.

Any and all advice appreciated!

Maybe the Apple TV would be a good option for you?.

You could also look at getting a radio remote control that plugs into your PC which allows you to change the songs anywhere is the house. The only downside is that you cant choose a song, just the basic pause, skip and rewind.

Kind of a convoluted way to do it, but you could use Airfoil on the Mac and Airfoil Speakers on the PC. But it would be simpler if there was a way to have a PC show up in the "speaker" dropdown on iTunes.
