Hi peeps,

When I try to program an AppleTV via the Home app, the only controls I have for it are 'paused' and 'on'. Is that correct? I was hoping to be able to tell it more than that.

Also, from the Apple TV handset I can turn the whole system off, which makes the ATV completely unresponsive to the Home app. Again, is that expected? The ATV is clearly still on, waiting for the remote to tell it to spring into action, but I was hoping a Scene or Automation would be able to do that.

Yours with serious first-world problems,

Have you looked at "google search "apple tv hey siri" and read the apple support articles?
Also my Vizo TV turns off when I turn off Apple TV so I half to use the TV remote to turn the TV on again for other viewing options ( cable, Direct TV, etc.)
In my Home app I have my smart TV and Apple TV.

If you long press the AppleTV tile, you should get more options including a remote on your iPhone screen.

And, no, the AppleTV should not completely turn off when you turn it off. It should remain on standby and connected to the internet/HomeKit. A scene or affirmation should be able to wake it. For example, I have an AppleTV hooked up to a dumb amplifier that controls my dumb outdoor speakers for AirPlay2 support. I have a scene that turns on the amp (with a smart plug), and starts playing music from the AppleTV to the speakers.

How do I get my Apple TV to sleep without turning my TV off?
