I have four disk drives on my Mac Pro: 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, 1 TB.The 250 GB drive is for Mac OS X distribution. The 500 GB drive is for user files. Each of the 1 TB drives has two partitions. The first partition is for the Mac OS X distribution. The second partition is for users.
When the Mac OS X boots, I would like it to mount the 250 GB and 500 GB as a volume set and no other drives or partitions. If I select one of the 1 TB drives, I want both partitions on that drive mounted but no others.
With regard to the 1 TB drives, my original plan was to split each drive into two partitions and use RAID 0 to mirror each partition on the other 1 TB but found that the software RAID didn't support this.
Is there a way to accomplish what i want?
