Start music on homepod by asking siri to play music. This can be controlled via siri or the control centre on iphone/pad - so far so good.
Is there a way for itunes on a macbook to show 'now playing' (when music started with siri and not started from itunes) on the homepod and to able to control the homepod volume etc from itunes or anywhere else on the mac to save using siri?

Click the airplay icon in iTunes and at the bottom of the drop down will be a section called 'Switch to...'

Click on your HomePod and now you're controlling it with iTunes.

Thanks - I had seen the bit at the bottom of airplay and clicked but it stopped the music. Have tried again a few times today and what you said is working fine. Thanks!!
