I have recently acquired a HomeKit compatible camera and I would like to be able to activate “Stream & Allow Recording” at night, and revert to “Stream” in the morning.
As far as I can see my only option is to decide the mode when I am Home and when I am Away, which is useful but I would like to record as well while I am in bed upstairs.
Any idea?

I did some more request and it would seem this is not possible with Homekit.
It seems a rather poor implementation if that is the case.
Any suggestion?

I agree the options here are...lacking.

I would also like the ability to record clips of ALL people, vehicle, animal detection, but only receive notification of those occurring within the set "zone".

For instance, I have a camera facing out towards the street. Right now my only options are:
  1. Record everything and either get no notifications or notifications for every car/person that goes by (hundreds per day). I realize I can sort this by time of day or my presence at home also.
  2. Only record and get notifications for events within the set zone
This is not ideal, because I would still like to record events that may occur on the sidewalk or street directly in front of my house, but do not want to be inundated with constant notifications. However, I want to limit notifications only for people or vehicles who approach my house in the driveway or yard.

Second issue I have is using the camera motion as a trigger. It seems that only the pixel based "motion" sensor part of the camera is exposed for this. I would prefer to utilize the people, vehicle animal detection instead. It would be nice to have an exterior flood light turn on when a person enters the activity zone, rather than just when the wind blows my tree or something.
