convert avi video file to comon dvd file such as vob ??

Hi id like to find out can you convert avi video files on vlc media player to vob etc which is the file on dvds you buy any help

Don't know about using VLC for that, but you can look under Transcode / Stream, and run through the wizard for the video you want.

Also, you could use Burn for OS X, select Video, drag in your video, then select DVD from the dropdown, it will ask you to convert to Mpeg or mPeg2 I think, which makes it a DVD.
