Alright guys, I am running Mac 10.7 (Lion) and have a old appleworks file that i am trying to convert to Pages (or really any modern application but Pages would be ideal). I tried opening with Pages but it said that the file wasn't a word processing document, so i tried opening with numbers and it says the file wasn't a spreadsheet. Is there any other place/freeware that i can use for the conversion?

Ummm, what if you don't have Pages?

You can often get Pages for free through the App Store. Depends on what you already have installed on your system.
You can also try to open an AppleWorks file using LibreOffice (that's free!)

Nice. I checked the App Store but unfortunately they're currently charging $19.99 for Pages. Since I already have Microsoft Office installed for work, I won't be making this purchase. However, I will try your suggestion of LibreOffice, thanks!
