convert mini dv from Sony handycam to Macbook?

HI-

I need some serious help!

I have a Sony handycam DCR-TRV11 (i think from 2001 or something)
All my home videos are on these miniDV's.

I now have a Macbook that I want to put these movies on & make dvd's.

My macbook has a 6 pin firewire port, but obviously, my handycam doesn't.

What do I need to bridge these 2 to work?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sure it does..

That is the manual that covers your model. They call it an iLink port. If anything, you'll need a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable..

I have been using a handy cam for years - these cables are available at most Radio Shacks. iMovie will download the clips for you so you don't need any of the Sony software.
