convert 'other region' dvd to mp4..?

ny somewhere
i have a friend in from europe, with 2 obscure art films on dvd (i'm in the US). is there any way i can copy the dvds to my mac? handbrake doesn't seem to see them (am assuming this is a region issue).

anyone? thanx...!

and, to answer my own question, am trying this right now in toast... :cool:
