Convert PDF to one that will display right in Preview / Quick Look / Safari?

Hey, so this is the first time I’ve encountered OS X not displaying a PDF correctly, but I need to open one that will only display with no text and strange black boxes. I tried it on my friend’s computer running Windows 7, and Chrome displayed it fine. I’m sure if I installed Adobe Reader it would work, but I do NOT want to do that. Is there an online converter or anything that will turn it into a PDF that displays correctly?

Preview tells me it was created in Word 2007, if that helps.
