My wife recently gave birth to our firstborn son and I've been taking lots of small videos with a digital camera. Problem is, I have no idea how to convert these (to a smaller format, first off) so that they can be transfered to my iPod Touch (2G, 32 gig).

Furthermore I wouldn't mind being able to turn lots of videos (movies, shows, etc.) into smaller-file formats for the device. I'm sure there is a thread here that can walk me through the process. Anyone have advice or a link to good advice on this?

Thanks in advance.

I usually use Handbrake for DVDs I own but I just tested it out with a .AVI movie file from my PowerShot SD790IS camera and it worked fine. You should try it out for both purposes, the program is very well regarded. :D
