Hi,

I'm making a little movie in iMovie, but my Camera (Sony W150) saves the videos as .mpg, but iMovie can't read this kind of files. What's the best way to convert from .mpg to .mov?

I use a program called Handbrake for this.

Google this, and you may have to download a less recent version of it for mac's like I did.

It works well, it takes sometime to work though, for a 2 hour movie it should take about an hour to swap.

Hope this heps.

don't use any of that stuff, the BEST file converter that uses all types is called
ffmpegX it's a free download for mac, but once u launch it, it asks for a serial number just hit cancel and it works great
