Convert VP7 videos

I recently got a VP7 - encoded video, and I want to convert it for iTunes/iPod playback. So far I've only been able to play it with Parallels and the official WMP codec, but I want something Mac.

Does anyone know of a way to convert these files to an .mp4 or .mov?

I've tried using ffmpegX but that hasn't worked. Maybe I just have some settings wrong, though, so I'll keep trying.

i am also quite puzzled as how to make this work.

just did an extensive search on the googles and found nothing!!!! even the developers web site doesnt support mac anymore.

If this is too late, sorry. But if you have a intel mac, you can install wine and install FFDShow video converter at http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDshow_download.htm and VP7 Personal at http://www.free-codecs.com/VP7_download.htm along with VirtualDub at http://www.virtualdub.org/download.html. Once you tie all that in, you can convert it to a format your Mac can read, if you convert it to Divx3, you need perian at http://perian.org/.
