Hi everyone,
I just took my 128GB Kingston SSD out of my MBP and swapped it for a 500GB HD (serious capacity problems). The 500GB HD was from a WD MyPassport, and so I put the SSD into the MyPassport casing and connected to my Mac. It does not recognize the drive, and when I try to format it in Disk Utility it says "POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. Input/output error."
If I connect the SSD with this generic USB to SATA cable connector that I have, the external drive shows up just fine. So, I'm thinking it's a problem between the way the SSD interacts with the WD SATA board?
Any help appreciated.
