andiwm2003 macrumors 601 Mar 29, 2004 4,477 620 Boston, MA May 11, 2010 #5 i'm not sure but wouldn't you install perian (for free) on your mac to allow quicktime to play ".avi". then you would import the avi into itunes as movie. then in itunes you would select the avi-movie and go to advanced/convert to appleTV/ipad.
