iPod Converting DVDs to iPod Movies with Handbrake HELP!

Hi. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded Instant Handbrake, inserted by DVD (Firewall) and pressed convert (with H.264 selected), and dragged the output into iTunes. I then tried to sync my iPod (5th Gen Video, 30 gig) and it said it couldn't sync the movie because it cannot be played on my iPod. I have also tried Handbrake and MoviePod all with the same result. It seems to work for other people! What am I doing wrong? (I also tried converting MI3 and Pirates of the Carribean 1, same thing happend for both).

the newest version of Handbrake (beta) has iPod presets. Try that.

Take the normal version of Handbrake, not the Beta.

Choose MPEG-4.

Under bitrate, it'll say 1000 by default, enter 1500 or 2000 (the higher the number the higher the quality, but the bigger the file size, and don't make it bigger than 2000!).

That's all you really need to do. Other optional settings that'll improve picture quality but might increase the time it takes to rip include Two-Pass encoding (no change in file size; it will take twice as long to rip), and under Picture Settings, Deinterlace (removes scanlines IF the movie has them when you rip normally).

But really, all you need to do is choose MPEG-4, and if you want better quality make the number between 1500 and 2000.
