Anyone know of a converter that will convert avi, wmv, divx etc to burn on dvd-rs and play on any home dvd player?

I have toast, visual hub and mac the ripper.. vhub converted one to dvd but it only played for 6 secs.. toast convrt? help

http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html maybe?

.avi is a container, Divx is a codec, most likely used with an .avi container.
.wmv is a container for Microsofts' Windows Media codecs, you probably need Flip4Mac to properly read them on your Mac.

Toast should be able to burn most of those video files to a video DVD though, no need for visualHub then.

Burn might do it too. Have a try.

EDIT: Have you looked for already existing threads about this via MRoogle?
