I am new to video editing. I usually edit medical videos like endoscopic and ultrasound procedures. I would like to know what programs can I use to convert iMovie and Final Cut Express videos to MPEG1 (preferrably something easy to use and with very good quality)? My boss usually uses a PC based computer and powerpoint for his presentation so this is why I am asking for video conversions to MPEG1.

As far as I know, Macs no longer support encoding of MPEG1.

You can purchase flip4mac to allow you to be able to export to WMV files. ( though surprisingly it says it won't work with iMovie 08. Odd. ) if you do go with them there is a feature matrix you might want to look at here.

Alternatively, Can you install Quicktime on the PC he uses for his presentations? Then you could use whatever you wanted ( preferably H.264 probably )
