Converting iPhone 4 HD vids and keeping quality

I've exported a few HD vids from my phone and want to convert them to WMV or AVI format without losing the quality. Any converter I've used (Speedy iPhone converter or Videora) converts it but the file size is about a third the original size and the quality is someone what lost.

Any software recommendations?

... AVI conversions (XVID, DIVX) I would recommend using Handbrake version 0.9.3. It´s no longer available, so I attached it here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4bcviyamy8boh51/HandBrake-0.9.3-MacOSX.5_GUI_x86.dmg

Keep in mind that you need to experiment with bitrates/features so reach the best tradeoff in file size and quality. For XVID/DIVX based conversions I would definitely not go below 1000kbit/s.
