Converting Iwork files (Pages, in particular) from '08 to '09

I desperately need a solution for this problem:

I am unable to make use of the pages application on my new ipad 2 because the app only supports documents saved in iWork '09. The only way around this is to export the documents I make on my computer to finish on my ipad as .doc back and forth. I found a nice script on the apple support forums that is said to do the job, but when I run the script the pages app returns the same "not saved in iwork '09 message. Does anyone have any software or other script in mind that can convert Pages '08 to Pages '09 for use with the Pages app on the Ipad?

quick question, do you have pages 09 on your mac? if so i can help, if not there are some other things you can ry but the first one is easiest

I am upgrading to Mavericks from Snow Leopard soon. I just downloaded the free trial version of Pages 09, so I need to convert all my Pages 08 documents to Pages 09. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
