i recently downloaded some AVI and MKV files. Is there a program that can

1. convert them to be put on a single 4.7GB DVD

Some of them are separate even though they are the same movie.

2. Join them together to be put on a DVD

convert all to .mp4 or .mov or similar with either VLC (confusing) quicktime pro (money) or toast titanium (money).

use imovie/quicktime pro to join them.

burn with idvd/toast titanium

"burn" is a free app. Easy to use and will convert your files.
