I am currently doing video editing in a new job, I have no experience and have to use a program called GameBreaker to edit the film (it is for sports). I have been using the program just fine running the camcorder into a dvd player then running the dvd player into my 17" MacBook Pro (2.66ghz Intel Core i7, 4gb).
With that being said anyone who has ever done this knows it takes forever. The recording onto the laptop goes in real time.... Is there any program or process out there that would speed up the time it takes to convert video from my Sony HandyCam (MTS file) to a playable/editable file on GameBreaker (AVI,MPEG,MP4,Ect.).

I've tried a few programs found through google but they are either slow or do not work.

Any info or suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance.

Egads man, do a search. The whole MTS conversion thing comes up once a week, so the answer should be a quick find.
