I know i probably should update. However, i really dont want to run the risk of importing all my songs again. Also, ive heard some people have said it brocked there touch. I have a really nice week 38 and i dont really know if i should take the risk. Thus this thread. Can someone convince me that the benifits outweigh thw risks? Anypnw have a word on this

Thanks so much,
arisian

I did it, and so far, I didn't find any improvement and downside.

the reasons for update are:
1. hacks are not out yet,
2. even if something gonna happen, you don't have too much to lose since you just got it.

Alarms now work properly.
Cool typing feature that displays special forms of i, e and u (e.g.) characters when you tap-hold.

Installed without a hitch.

I did the update with Wk 38 it was great before and is still Great"".

If you don't update, they(itunes) will bug you until you do. There's no telling how many fixes or updates we will be asked to download from here on out, so might as jump in and get it over with.

the cool text thing worked before the update. So far the most convincing argument to do it is so that iTunes doesn't ask me to update every time I connect. Bleh. I'll probably do it before too long. However I'll prbably wait until I have a lot of time to to redo every thing

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3A110a Safari/419.3)

I had zero problems too.
No worries

An update isn't the same as a restore. The update doesn't dump your songs at all, just a nice FYI.

I updated and found NO benefit.
I'd be wary. Something tells me Apple found a hole in the firmware which would allow hacks/addons, and this update patches it.

Keep the old firmware for now-- if you ever plan on trying to add apps.

Just update, srsly. No cracked programs or anything yet.

By the way, was the "dimmer" on prior to the patch? I don't remember my album dimming, I thought the screen just turned off after a while. Either way, love the dimmer :p
