It's not a video embedded using HTML5. There's no way to do that on the iPhone in Safari, the movie controller is fullscreen or not at all.

It's actually an animation using a series of hundreds and hundreds of jpgs. You can tell because if you hold down your finger it brings up the image save dialogue and you can grab whatever frame is there at the time. And before you ask, yes that is a really bandwidth inefficient and battery killing way of doing it, which is pretty much unquestionably worse than an actual video or a hypothetical iPhone flash plug-in would perform. But it's the only way to do it at the moment.
