Since it has been quite a while that we had a thread like this and there has been a lot of new software I thought I'd start a new one.

Please always include a link to the app and a small description

Here are mine:

- The Filter - iTunes playlist generator
- iAlertU - Notebook security/alarm app using the iSight and the motion sensors
- VacuumMail - Automization of the envelope cleaning script for mail.app
- DRIMaker - Dynamic Range Increase app drag and drop style
- SecuritySpy - surveillance app
- Journler - Journal / Knowledge management app
- Fountain Music - awesome iTunes visualizer

How is The Filter? It seems like a stripped down, free version of Tangerine!, but I'm wondering if folks have any other experience with it?

From what I can remember of Tangerine!, this program analyses music data by BPM to build playlists. It's true the UI is awesome and I imagine its pretty great for going to the gym, but well... so what if the music is at the same tempo! I want good tunes that emotionally work with my mood.

And The Filter, while far from perfect (its so tempramental) is much better at creating 'musical' playlists because they use collaborative filtering and AMG data rather than BPM.

Other than The Filter, I've been really pleased with Peel - http://getpeel.com/ - fab program, turns iTunes into Songbird.
