cooling a 9800pro

Hi everybody,

i have a 9800pro that has a stock ATI heatsink/fan on it. it is really loud and starting to annoy me.

i went looking into some quiet cooling options, and came across the Verax G03 fan, and this passive heatsink from Zalman...

With either solution, i will lose a pci slot. the passive solution from the Zalman seems ideal... no power and completely silent. my only question is: will this card fit in a G4 tower case (specifically a Digital Audio G4 tower) ? I am not sure if the heatpipes will clear the cd-rom when the case is closed...

has anyone tried the Zalman ZM80A-HP on their quest to silence their G4 ?

I don't have any experience with that zalman cooler, though they usually make pretty good stuff. However, I recently installed a similar Thermaltake cooler on my friend's 9800pro in his PC. It's essentially the same, but with a small, near silent fan blowing on one side of the heatsink. I don't know if I would trust an entirely passive cooling system for my GPU, unless their was excellent airflow in the case (which was definately not the case with my buddy's comp). Anyways, here's the link to the Thermaltake cooler I used.
