I have a MBP (2006) with InvisibleShield full body cover and CoolMaster NotePal notebook cooler (http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?language=en&act=detail&tbcate=1&id=127). I also have FanControl installed and configured the setting to 3400RPM/40C/70C.

Before the InvisibleShield installation, my MBP would run at just under 60C on maximum load (Warcraft 3, iTunes, MSN, & Safari) with the notebook cooler. Ever since the shield installation, my MBP have never went under 75C under the same load.

Is there anything that I could do to cool my laptop (switching fans on cooler, FanControl settings, etc)? The laptop emits so much heat that sometimes my forehead sweats when its under maximum load.

My friend suggested to modify the cooler's power consumption thingy so the fan would run faster. Is that a good idea? I've also bought new thermal grease but I'm too chicken to open the chassis (and that I don't have the star shaped screwdrivers). What should I do?
