So, it's currently summer here in Western Australia and we're hitting 40C reliably.

I like to use my MBP to run games occasionally, but i dislike the fan noise.

Do any of you run cooling pads?

Do they make any difference?

Does any one recommend any particular pad, preferably one which has a USB hub in it, and also preferably powered by external power rather than USB (for more power)?

Cooling pad's are pointless really. They won't stop your fans from going full blast while playing a game. It's just a simple fact you need to accept.

Having it elevated is enough and that's what I do. I use a rain mStand.
