Copied folders and files from Linux Unbuntu to Macbook Pro only read permissions

Hey guys,
I was working on a desktop that was using linux unbuntu and I burned a lot of music and document folders and then copied them to my Macbook pro. Problem is it seems I only have read permissions on all the stuff I copied. How can I reset the privileges on them?
