i wonder if buying a piece of copper sheet, 1mm thick, or 2 pieces on top of each other,, and put it under mbp will be very effective to dissipate the heat?

since copper is a very very effective conductor.

You can use copper, but aluminum is cheaper and you will find that it is widely used in "heatsinks" for cooling cpus.

Other choices are flat granite or marble stone. Or you can get something like this:

there's no where to find cheap piece of aluminum.
however, i found copper pieces on craigslist.
the FIN doesn't seem to have large surface area to conduct heat..

No, but it allows air to circulate beneath the computer allowing the heat to escape from underneath. Remember that the MBP case is Aluminum and with it raised like that, will allow for greater heat dissipation.

Copper is a good conductor, but unless you want thermal paste all over the place, you best bet is just to raise the back up.

Just a thought... How about something like this?

Why not even add to that and have a fan blowing on the copper sheet/computer and/or a cold pack or water cooling on the copper plates! :D;)

ya thermal paste everywhere is yucky

actually gold is a really good heat conductor
isn't silver also? (isn't that whats in thermal past, little piecies of shaved silver)

i thought about making a way to cool my mbp for a while but then thought
what happens if it gets to hot and melts, its apple fault and they give me a new one.
so...

but ya i have this thing called fan control
which ironically controls the fans in the case.
it nice, do not know where i got it but ya i have the .dmg file if you want it.

hey if you build a copper mbp case
i would buy it.
or a gold one:rolleyes:
