I'm trying to copy and paste a phone number from a website into a text. However, all I get are options to create contact, send text etc etc but no copy/paste. Anyone got any idea how to do this?

Many thanks

Michael.

Select more text than the number and then copy it all, enter notes paste it there and remove the text so you only have the number left. Select all and copy the number. I'm sure someone has a smarter solution :p

It's annoying all right.

The workaround I've found to this is annoying as well, but it works. Copy more than just the phone number. Get the word in front of it and behind it. The phone then thinks you're copying a whole sentence and doesn't give you the 'phone-number options.'

Once you've pasted it, erase the extra words.

I agree, they need to add "copy" to the options when selecting a phone number.

I'm sure someone has a smarter solution :p

Guess not!

Maybe we should write feedback to Apple about this? I mean it can't take more than 10-seconds to add a copy option.

I just dial the number by touching it one time so it's in my recent calls list, then I copy it from there or hit the "share contact" button

This suggestion really IS the easiest way. And just to be clear, you can end the call before it rings and it will still be in your phone's recent list.

When you see the number in your phone's recent list, click on the blue circle to the right of the number, and choose either "Add to existing contact" or "create new contact"

This is only slightly more difficult than a simple copy.

I really do think it would be great, however, if apple added a third button ("Copy") to the popup dialog box that asks if you want to "Call" or "Cancel".

I remember it use to be easier to select specific text from websites, now it seems like it always wants to grab an entire section of a page or an entire line.
